Joe Burrow opened the 2019 college football season as a longshot for the Heisman. With +6500 odds, according to FanDuel Sportsbook, the LSU QB was behind a laundry list of other players.

However, coming into the Tigers' Week 4 college football game with Vanderbilt, Burrow's Heisman odds were the best they'd been all season at +500.

And boy did he have a good game today. Burrow went 25-for-34 for 398 yards and six touchdowns in a 66-38 win over the Commodores. That brings his season totals to 1,520 passing yards, 17 passing TDs and just two interceptions.

Burrow was already tied with Jalen Hurts and Tua Tagovailoa for the best odds to win the Heisman prior to today's game, and it's quite possible that he's the lone favorite once this week's college football slate is complete.

He was a big winner following Week 1 (278 yards and five TDs), made another jump after Week 2 (471 and four TDs) and had another quality game in Week 3 (373 and two passing TDs). Just his first quarter today (199 passing yards and three TDs) put Burrow's name on the Heisman watch list.

The Field's odds on FanDuel Sportsbook already passed the two initial Heisman favorites in Tagovailoa and Trevor Lawrence, and one reason for that is Burrow's early-season performance. His Heisman campaign is now in full swing with LSU heading into its bye week.
