Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy Outlook Paints Undervalued Streaming Option in 2021

Jimmy Garoppolo's injury history makes him one of the riskiest fantasy football quarterbacks on the board. But, the San Francisco 49ers just named him the official Week 1 starter and his fantasy outlook is seriously undervalued to kick off the year – at least while he maintains the job, that is.

It's impossible to simply ignore the injury troubles. In the past four seasons, Jimmy G has played and started all 16 games just once while missing 33 of 64 possible games during this stretch. But, when he's healthy, Garoppolo provides value in two-quarterback leagues or as a streaming option.

Garoppolo's last fully healthy campaign came in 2019 and he finished as QB14 while averaging 16.27 fantasy points per game.

According to average draft position (ADP) data from FantasyPros, Garoppolo owns an ADP of 301.0 overall and QB44. That makes him seriously undervalued in two-QB formats, where he should be viewed as a low-end QB2 as long as he maintains the starting gig over rookie Trey Lance.
