The New York Jets have been working hard to revamp the wide receiver position this offseason in order to give rookie quarterback Zach Wilson the best chance to succeed. The WR depth chart is beginning to take shape ahead of training camp and it may come as a surprise to some people.

Jets News: WR Depth Chart

The Jets made it a priority to sign a No. 1 receiver in free agency and they opted to go with Corey Davis. He lines up as the team's top option on the outside and will be looking to build off a 2020 season in which he racked up 984 yards on 65 receptions and scored 5 touchdowns.

After Davis, the battle for positioning becomes very competitive. The Athletic's Connor Hughes reports that Keelan Cole has been getting a lot of first-team reps, not second-year wideout Denzel Mims. Reports say Mims may not be the best fit in this offense despite showing some flashes during his rookie season (357 yards on 23 receptions).

Hughes also points out that dynamic second-round pick Elijah Moore has been impressive working out of the slot position. It will be interesting to see if he can lock down a starting role with veteran Jamison Crowder also returning to the team on a restructured contract.

The depth chart is far from finalized, but the Jets are suddenly tasked with some tough decisions to make. Having depth at a skill position is never a bad thing, but making sure the right players are on the field at the right time is important.

The Jets remain longshots to make the playoffs with odds set at +490, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
