The 2020 New York Jets don't have much going for them. In fact, many consider them to be the worst team in the NFL. While the Jets seem like they are going into full tank mode, one by keeping Adam Gase as the head coach, and two, releasing arguably their most talented player in Le'Veon Bell, they are currently on pace to break an embarrassing record as well.

Currently the Jets are 0-6 against the spread (ATS), and haven't been particularly close to covering at all this season. The record for ATS losses to start a season is 0-8, which has been done twice, by the 1991 Cincinnati Bengals and the 2003 Oakland Raiders.

If we look at the Jets upcoming schedule, things don't seem to be getting easier anytime soon.

They have the Buffalo Bills in Week 7, who are in first place in the AFC East with a 4-2 record and are 3-3 ATS on the season. In Week 8, they have the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 5-1 on the season and 4-2 ATS. The Jets and 12.5-point home underdogs to the Bills and likely will be in the three-touchdown range underdogs against the Chiefs, arguably the NFL's best team.

In Week 9, the Jets face off against the New England Patriots, who they have not recorded a win against in four seasons.

Losing eight or nine consecutive games in a row is bad enough, but also not covering the spread when you're a massive underdog week in and week out is downright embarrassing. That's the 2020 Jets in a nutshell.
