The New York Jets addressed a number of roster holes through the 2021 NFL Draft and head into the fall with some hope for improvement. It looks like a pair of injured rookies in Elijah Moore and Alijah Vera-Tucker could return to the field for the final preseason game on August 27.

Jets Injury News

This is great news for head coach Robert Saleh as he has been adamant about how important it is for this offense to have time to gel together. Quarterback Zach Wilson has looked dependable in his first taste of NFL action, but the Jets have yet to have their entire offense out on the field at once.

Moore would benefit from having increased playing time with Wilson as he works his way back from a quad injury suffered last week. The second-round pick out of Ole Miss has been a standout during training camp and could work his way up the wide receiver depth chart if he continues to impress.

Vera-Tucker is set to be a mainstay on this Jets' offensive line and is a key player in protecting Wilson in the pocket. The first-round pick has been sidelined by a pectoral injury.

Saleh has expressed that there is almost no concern when it comes to the rookies' statuses for the team's first regular season game on Sept. 12. The Jets remain long shots to make any kind of noise this season and have odds set at +490 to make the playoffs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
