The New England Patriots were long known for always looking for "bulletin board material" — comments or actions from opponents and media that could motivate them to play at a higher level. Well apparently Bill Belichick is on the other side of the coin, as he's provided the New York Jets with some bulletin board material.

Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich made it very clear that the Jets are out for revenge against the Patriots this week.

The game Ulbrich is talking about came in Week 7 of the 2021 season — Ulbrich's first as the Jets' defensive coordinator. The Patriots earned a massive 54-13 victory, and they never took the foot off the gas. The game was already out of hand at 34-13 heading into the fourth quarter when the Patriots scored three unanswered touchdowns while continuing to sling the ball downfield to rack up more points.

The Jets' defense ranked dead last in both points and yards against in that 2021 campaign, but they're an entirely different unit in 2022, ranking 10th in both yards and points against.

Ulbrich probably already had a bone to pick with Belichick after going 0-2 against him during his playing career with the San Francisco 49ers, but now things are a lot more personal, and he's coaching a unit that looks capable of getting some serious revenge.

The betting markets don't think Ulbrich will come out on top in this round either, however. The Jets are 2.5-point underdogs in FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds, and the over/under for Patriots touchdowns scored is set at 2.5.
