After struggling to protect the football and find their offensive rhythm in the season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hit the road to take on the division rival Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football.

Buccaneers' starting quarterback Jameis Winston is looking to bounce back and show he's learned how to improve under new head coach Bruce Arians, but his recent struggles on the road likely point to another tough performance for the Bucs.

Tampa Bay has lost its last 12 road games that Winston started and the last 14 games he's appeared in overall. Winston's last road win came against the San Diego Chargers in Week 13 of the 2016 NFL season. And when your last road victory was in a city that no longer has a football team, you're not on the right side of the trend.

In his 28 career road games, Winston has led his team to only eight victories. He has lost all three of his Thursday Night Football games, and he is 3-4 against the Panthers, turning the football over 15 times in those meetings with only eight touchdowns.

Both teams enter this game winless, after both teams dropped their Week 1 matchups to NFC West opponents. However, the Panthers were able to move the football with success, largely thanks to Christian McCaffrey. The Buccaneers really struggled overall in Week 1, but their best player, Mike Evans, was reportedly sick.
