The 2020 NFL season was one to forget for the Philadelphia Eagles, who ended the year with a 4-11-1 record. However, the team has pushed those memories in the past and is focusing on the upcoming campaign.
One player who's looking to rebound from an underwhelming performance is sophomore wideout Jalen Reagor. The 21st overall pick in 2020 was average more often than not last year, however, he could take a big developmental leap in 2021.
Jalen Reagor Fantasy Outlook
Reagor caught just 57.4% of his receptions (31-for-54) for 396 yards and a touchdown as injuries held him to just 11 games last year. While those stats are modest for a first-round pick, it doesn't help that he failed to record more than 55 receiving yards in a game. There were also three occasions where he finished with 20 or fewer receiving yards despite averaging nearly five targets per contest.
The Eagles drafted 2020 Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith at this year's draft to be their No. 1 wideout going forward. However, Smith has dealt with injuries over the offseason and didn't make much of an impact in his preseason debut against the New England Patriots. Philadelphia's No. 1 WR role could still be up for grabs, which opens the door for Reagor to take the job.
At the end of the day, Reagor's fantasy performance also depends on how sophomore quarterback Jalen Hurts has developed. While he looked promising at times last year, Hurts completed just 52.0% of his passes and threw 6 touchdowns to 4 interceptions in four starts.
If that's how he plays again in 2021, Reagor likely doesn't have much fantasy value. Nevertheless, a bounce-back performance from Hurts would likely mean big things for Reagor.
Jalen Reagor ADP
Reagor is listed as WR64 on Fantasy Pros, with an average draft position (ADP) of 175.3. He doesn't crack the top-50 WRs in our 2021 fantasy football rankings.
