Marcus Smart was sidelined for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Miami Heat. Without their floor general Boston completely fell apart in the third quarter, as the Celtics were outscored 39-14 en route to a 118-107 loss.

Celtics fans are hoping Smart can get back on the court for Game 2, and all signs are pointing toward a return for the Defensive Player of the Year.

Is Marcus Smart Playing Tonight?

The team officially listed Smart as probable. In a game of this magnitude, you have to think Smart will gut it out and play through the pain here, especially since Derrick White is out.

Marcus Smart Injury Update

Smart has been dealing with a right mid-foot sprain that he suffered near the end of Boston's Game 7 victory over Milwaukee. It might be unfair to expect Smart to be playing at 100% tonight, but he should be able to provide some defense and ball-handling – two things Boston needed in Game 1.

Celtics vs Heat Game 2

Even with Smart likely to play, the Celtics are 3.5-point underdogs on the road in Miami tonight. But those numbers could shift depending on whether or not players like Horford or Kyle Lowry suit up in Game 2.
