The Philadelphia 76ers are back in action on Wednesday night as they face the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Joel Embiid, who missed the team's last game with a foot injury.

Joel Embiid Injury Update (1/25/2023)

The latest update on Embiid isn't the most encouraging. He didn't participate in Tuesday's practice and is now listed as questionable for tonight.

This certainly doesn't paint a great picture regarding his status for Wednesday. An extremely limited practice for a big man dealing with a foot issue likely points to another day off for the five-time All-Star.

The 76ers will certainly miss their dominant center if he's out for the second straight contest. He's been one of the best players in the entire league this season, averaging a monster line of 33.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

The good news for Philadelphia is this roster has managed to hold its own whenever Embiid's been sidelined in 2022-23. Doc Rivers' squad owns an 8-4 record in games without the big man this season. With Brooklyn missing Kevin Durant, James Harden and company have a great chance to make it 9-4 tonight.

Joel Embiid Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today

No 76ers players is currently listed with props available, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds, while Emiid's status is TBD. Meanwhile, the game is projected at a total of 225.5 points. Assuming Embiid sits, two of the NBA's top-seven scorers won't be suiting up in this one with Durant also out. Kyrie Irving and James Harden are the only serious offensive threats remaining, which makes the under (-106) mighty attractive.

Embiid shouldn't be on the FanDuel DFS radar while he's hampered by this foot injury. However, Montrezl Harrell should be. Harrell put up a solid 31.4 fantasy points on Saturday when filling in for Embiid. His stats also balloon to 12.4 PPG and 5.4 RPG, up from his season-long marks of 6.1 PPG and 2.9 RPG, in games where Embiid is inactive. At a price tag of just $4,800, Harrell is an excellent value target with another start likely in the cards.
