The Milwaukee Bucks are back in action on Friday night as they face the Miami Heat at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is dealing with a right wrist sprain.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Injury Update (2/24/2023)

Antetokounmpo is listed as doubtful to play on Friday night and all signs point to him sitting on the bench. The two-time NBA MVP suffered the wrist sprain in Milwaukee's final game before the All-Star break (Feb. 16). He exited after 9 minutes of action and played only 20 seconds in the All-Star game.

The Greek Freak then traveled to New York to undergo further testing, which revealed the injury is not considered season-ending. Giannis hurt his wrist when he used it to brace a fall to the ground and it's a worrisome injury as he uses that part of his body on every play. That's true on offense and defense.

Keep an eye out for concrete details about Giannis' status tonight and moving forward. The 28-year-old is in the midst of an amazing season as he is averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds and 5.4 assists across 47 games. The Bucks currently rank second in the Eastern Conference with a 41-17 record.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today

Antetokounmpo is not listed in terms of Milwaukee's player props available on FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds. It serves as one more indication that he will not be suiting up. Jrue Holiday should take on a bigger scoring role and has drained at least a trio of three-pointers in four of the seven games he has played without Giannis this year. Backing Holiday to accomplish that feat at -125 odds is enticing.

Giannis is listed as the top option on the FanDuel DFS slate tonight, though, checking in with the most expensive price tag overall ($12,200). No other player comes with a price tag of more than $10,700. Antetokounmpo is averaging a dependable 54.1 FanDuel fantasy points per game, so that shouldn't come as a major shock. Having a backup plan ready to go in case Giannis is ruled out is vital here.
