The Los Angeles Lakers are back in action Monday night as they face the Brooklyn Nets at 7:30 p.m. ET. One player's status to keep an eye on ahead of tip-off is Anthony Davis, who recently returned from a right foot injury.

Anthony Davis Injury Update (1/30/2023)

Davis has been ruled out on Monday night. The 29-year-old made his return to the court on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs after missing 20 games with a bone spur and stress reaction in his right foot. He saw his minutes jump from 26 in that game to 34 in a loss to the Boston Celtics on Saturday.

Giving Anthony Davis a night off every now and then moving forward in order for him to stay healthy down the stretch would not be a surprising approach from LA. The Lakers need him to be dominant when it matters the most as he is averaging 26.7 points and 12.0 rebounds per game this season.

Davis' absence leaves the Lakers short-handed against a Brooklyn team that has found ways to win games without Kevin Durant. It only gets worse for LA as LeBron James has also been ruled out with left ankle soreness. It'll be up to the role players to step up and earn an upset victory over the Nets.

Anthony Davis Fantasy Outlook and Prop Bets Today

Davis isn't listed with any props available, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NBA odds. His and James' absence opens the door for Russell Westbrook to act as the main contributor on offense. The veteran point guard dropped 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists on Jan. 9, which was the last time James and Davis sat out. Backing the over on Westbrook's points prop (19.5) makes sense here.

Westbrook is a name to keep an eye on in the FanDuel DFS market with a price tag of $7,800, too. I find myself leaning toward Thomas Bryant as the best option on the Lakers tonight, though. The young center put up a combined 46 points and 21 rebounds in the two games prior to Davis' return on Thursday. Sliding him into your lineup at the low price of $5,800 seems like a steal on Monday.
