Health has been an issue for Cleveland Browns cornerback Greedy Williams since entering the league in 2019. After missing the entire 2020 campaign, there was optimism that Williams could hit the ground running at 100% to start this season.

Things have taken a turn for the worse, it appears. Williams was removed from Sunday's preseason game against the New York Giants due to a groin injury.

Greedy Williams Injury Update

The severity is unknown at this point, but it still feels like a worrisome injury given how tricky the area can be to rehab. This is now another ailment that could give Williams problems, which isn't what Browns fans were hoping for.

Williams started 12 games for Cleveland in his rookie year. The second-round pick recorded 2 passes defended and 37 solo tackles in his debut campaign. Then a nerve injury in the corner's shoulder held him out for the entirety of the 2020 season.

Williams being healthy and making an impact would be a huge boost for an improved Browns defense. Cleveland's upgrades on that side of the ball have them positioned as Super Bowl contenders, but possibly losing Williams to start the year would be far from ideal.

The Browns own the eighth-best odds to win the Super Bowl at +1600, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
