Grant Williams Stats

Grant Williams made a big impact during his junior season at Tennessee, winning SEC Player of the Year and averaging 18.8 points per game (PPG) and 7.5 rebounds per game (RPG). Williams improved his production in each of these categories with every year at Tennessee. He also improved his shooting, hitting 56.4 percent of his shots from the field and 32.6 percent from 3-point range in the 2018-19 season.

His 6-foot-11 wingspan helps him assert himself as a rebounder and finisher close to the basket, despite his size. Williams also has a high basketball IQ and good vision, allowing him to find his teammates for easier looks. While his wingspan is good for his height, he is still an undersized power forward. Williams also had the tendency to be foul prone, committing at least three fouls per game in each of his three seasons with the Volunteers.

Grant Williams NBA Draft Predictions

San Antonio Spurs (No. 19 or 29), Golden State Warriors (No. 28)

The San Antonio Spurs have shown a tendency to draft high-IQ players with versatility, which fits Grant Williams' profile well. Assuming the Spurs decide not to bring back Rudy Gay, Williams could grow into that same type of role off the bench, sparking the offense and helping the team get stops. With a little work, he could likely develop a more consistent 3-point shot, which the Spurs need, after averaging just 9.9 made 3-pointers per game in the 2018-19 regular season (No. 26 in the NBA).

The Golden State Warriors have drafted many defensive forwards in recent years, with their offense clearly figured out. But with the possibility of Kevin Durant leaving town, it would likely behoove them to add another scoring forward who can also help make plays for other shooters.
