Georgia Being Disrespected by New ESPN 2021 College Football Power Rankings

ESPN has released its newest college football power rankings using their Football Power Index system (FPI).
It is no surprise that the Alabama Crimson Tide lead the way at the top, but one SEC team is being majorly disrespected, as the Georgia Bulldogs come in ranked at No. 7.
This is quite the difference between where they rank in terms of National Championship odds. They have the third-best odds to win it all at +450, according to college football odds posted on FanDuel Sportsbook. That mark only trails Alabama (+250) and the Clemson Tigers (+400).

Georgia Power Rankings
Georgia is coming off a great season in which they finished 8-2. They even capped it off with an exciting 24-21 win over the Cincinnati Bearcats in the Peach Bowl.
When it comes down to it, the Bulldogs return most of what was a very impressive offense last season. They are loaded with talented players including a dangerous backfield duo of Zamir White (779 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2020) and James Cook (6.7 yards per carry in 2020).
Plus, quarterback JT Daniels balled out during his limited playing time last season and is now on the short list of Heisman favorites in 2021. While losing wide receiver George Pickens is tough, Daniels will still be throwing to a pair of 400-yard receivers from last season in Jermaine Johnson and Kearis Jackson.
Head coach Kirby Smart has shown he can build a defense ready to go head-to-head with anyone in the conference. This is a balanced and experienced team that will compete for a College Football Playoff spot once again. Don't underestimate what the Bulldogs can pull off.
