Green Bay Packers fans experienced every single emotion during the 2022 NFL season. A 4-8 start to the season caused all hope to be lost before a four-game winning streak brought that hope right back. Green Bay couldn't get the job done in Week 18 a win-and-in game, though, and finished 8-9.

The actions of the Packers' front office this offseason will go a long way in showing whether or not the team is still all-in with quarterback Aaron Rodgers leading the way. With a terrible cap space situation, it's going to be tough. Here are three free agents the Packers need to sign to make the playoffs in 2023.

Green Bay Packers Free Agency

1. JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR

The Packers were already lacking in wide receiver depth throughout the 2022 season and could now lose one of their top pass catchers in Allen Lazard to free agency. Veteran Randall Cobb is set to hit the open market as well, leaving Rodgers with only unproven players like Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs at WR. Bringing in an established player should be a priority here and JuJu Smith-Schuster fits the bill. Spotrac lists his expected market value at a lesser amount than Lazard despite the fact that he outshined him in nearly every statistical category. Smith-Schuster tallied a respectable 933 yards and 3 touchdowns on 78 receptions this past season. He logged 465 yards after the catch, too, which shows his reliability as a slot WR is excellent.

2. Evan Engram, TE

The same argument made for Smith-Schuster can be made for tight end Evan Engram. The Packers have a massive need at TE with both Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis set to hit the open market. Engram comes with a price tag that is expected to be lower than Dalton Schultz or Mike Gesicki, according to Spotrac. He is also coming off the best season of his career, which makes him the perfect addition. Engram racked up 766 yards and 4 touchdowns on 73 receptions while playing in at least 15 games for the third straight season. It's not going to be easy to pry him away from re-signing with Jacksonville, but Engram could possibly be persuaded with a wealthy one-year deal or multi-year contract.

3. Melvin Ingram, EDGE

Aside from surrounding Rodgers with offensive weapons, the Packers need to be prioritizing an upgrade at pass-rusher. Green Bay ranked tied for 27th in sacks (34.0) despite ranking eighth in pressure rate (23.4%). Adding players capable of wrapping up the opposing QB and getting him down to the ground is vital. Veteran Melvin Ingram fits that mold. The 33-year-old tallied 6.0 sacks this past season to go along with 18 pressures, 10 QB hits, and 1 forced fumble. While Ingram is past his prime as an every-down linebacker, he still has the talent to be a difference-maker along the edge. He could be the spark this defensive line desperately needs.
