After an exciting week at the WGC-Workday Championship that saw one of our DFS picks, Collin Morikawa, walk away with the victory, the PGA Tour officially turns its attention to the Arnold Palmer Invitational. This event is always one that golfers and fans look forward to given who started it and its location.
Let's take a look at three golfers to watch out for when putting together your fantasy team this week.
Rory has been incredible on this course and is in great form coming into this event, which could turn into a lethal combo for the rest of the field. Despite missing the cut two weeks ago at the Genesis Invitational, McIlroy has placed T-21 or better in his six events this season prior to that, including a T-5 finish. When it comes to Bay Hill and this event McIlroy's play is even more impressive. In his last four years at this event, he has finished 5th, 6th, 1st and 4th, respectively. McIlroy ranks No. 3 on tour in birdie average this season and boasts three top-10 finishes in total in that time. There's no one else teeing it up this week more comfortable here than McIlroy and history shows that.
Sungjae Im hasn't exactly been playing dominant golf coming into this event, but he's been solid. He has finished T-12, T-32, T-17 and T-28 in his last four events. However, even in his limited experience on this course he has played great. Im has finished No. 3 the last two years here, the only two times he's played in this event. In what is a bit of a weaker field this year, it could finally be time for Im to break through.
Marc Leishman is similar to Im here. Although he's probably coming at a better value. Leishman in his last six starts has four top-25 finishes, two top-10 finishes and one top-5 finish. Although, he's got an even better track record at Bay Hill in recent years. Over his last five starts in this event, Leishman has finished T-17, 1, 7, 23 and 2. To get a guy at this value with this much success on a course is hard to come by. His comfort at Bay Hill should help him turn around back-to-back finishes outside the top 30 the last two weeks.
