Fantasy Golf Picks

The PGA Tour heads into its fourth tournament after returning from the break due to the COVID pandemic. This week it's the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Michigan. With a loaded field of players heading into this holiday weekend tournament, let's take a look at three players to watch out for when putting together your fantasy team.

Rocket Mortgage Classic Fantasy Golf Picks

Bryson DeChambeau:
Bryson DeChambeau makes this list again and for good reason. He's been the best and most consistent player on tour this season, especially since the return. With seven top-10 finishes already to his name this season, DeChambeau's monster driver will help him at this long course. This has helped him up his greens in regulation (GIR) to No. 9 on tour. He also ranks top-10 on tour in birdie average, scoring average and sand save percentage. In three starts since returning from the Pandemic, DeChambeau has gone T-3, T-8 and T-6, respectively. There's no one in golf hotter than DeChambeau right now and he's going to a course that plays to his strengths.

Tyrrell Hatton:
Tyrrell Hatton might be the best player on tour this season you've never heard of. He was T-3 in his lone event since the return. However, he is No. 1 on tour in strokes gained (SG): approach to the green, SG: tee-to-green and SG: total. He is also No. 2 on tour in SG: putting, all crucial sats on this course. Hatton ranks No. 2 in birdie average and No. 4 in scoring average. If his play continues close to those numbers he'll be near the top of the leaderboard come Sunday.

Viktor Hovland:
Still a name the average fan probably doesn't know yet, Viktor Hovland's potential is through the roof and he's starting to show it. Since the restart of the season Hovland has improved every week, finishing T-23, T-21 and T-11, respectively, the last three weeks. He's No. 3 on tour in eagles per hole, which should bode well at this lengthy course. Hovland is No. 11 on tour is SG: off-the-tee and No. 12 in SG: approach the green. If he can keep this momentum going into a slightly weaker field than. the start-studded events the last two weeks than Hovland should be in contention by the end of the weekend.
