With many of the PGA Tour's top players across the pond playing in the Scottish Open as they prepare for the Open Championship next week, players stateside are teeing it up at the John Deere Classic.
With that in mind, let's take a look at three players to target for your fantasy team this week.
John Deere Classic Fantasy
A consistent and solid player like Daniel Berger should be in a great position in a weaker field like this. He has grabbed seven top-20 and four top-10 finishes in his last 10 starts, including one win. While he didn't fare that well in 2019 (the last time this event was played), finishing 33rd, Berger placed 5th in his only other appearance at TPC Deere Run in 2017. His ball striking and approach game should be a huge benefit to him this week. He ranks No. 8 on tour in Greens in Regulation (GIR) and No. 14 in Strokes Gained (SG): Approach The Green.
Russell Henley comes into this event off back-to-back solid starts. He finished T-13 in the U.S. Open and T-19 at the Travelers Championship, both with much tougher fields than he will be up against at the John Deere Classic. Additionally, TPC Deere Run is a place where he has had some success, placing second in 2019. Similar to Berger, Henley's approach game has been great this season, ranking No. 4 in SG: Approach The Green, No. 26 in SG: Tee-To-Green and No. 18 in GIR.
Seamus Power might not be a well known name, but he has been playing some great golf heading into this event. He enters the 2021 John Deere Classic on a run of four straight Top-20 finishes, which includes two top-10 finishes. He also has two top-25 finishes in three career starts at TPC Deere Run, including a T-16 in 2018. Power ranks No. 34 in SG: Approach The Green, and No. 6 in SG: Around-The-Green.
