With just over $3 million in cap space, the Atlanta Falcons will have to make smart moves in the upcoming NFL Draft. Fortunately, ESPN insider Todd McShay just released his latest mock draft and has the Falcons pulling off a perfect first round.

McShay projects Atlanta to nab talented USC wide receiver Drake London at No. 8 overall. He then predicts the Falcons to trade a trio of mid-round draft picks to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 29 pick, drafting Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral.

Falcons Mock Draft

This would be a dream scenario at kicking the Falcons off into a bright future. London is considered one of, if not the top wide receiver in this draft class. Atlanta is clearly the most WR-needy team between the lack of production in 2021 and Calvin Ridley's recent suspension. It'd be wise for Atlanta to pair a top WR talent alongside Kyle Pitts after his terrific rookie campaign.

London tallied 88 receptions, 1,084 yards and 7 TDs despite playing only eight games due to injury.

Nabbing a young, talented QB at No. 29 completes this perfect first round. Veteran Matt Ryan will remain under center next year, but offers the Falcons a lighter dead-cap hit if they move on next offseason. Enter Corral, who like every other QB in this class, is primed to need a year or two of development.

Corral wowed during his junior campaign by tallying 3,349 passing yards, and 20 TDs to just 5 interceptions. He has a good arm and way more mobility than the aging Ryan under center. Atlanta can give him another year of development and look towards a bright future with Corral, London and Pitts leading the offense for years to come.
