Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts suffered an injury in Week 11, and this left he rest of his season in doubt. On Wednesday, the Falcons head coach Arthur Smith confirmed what has be feared, Pitts' season is officially over.
Kyle Pitts Injury Update
Smith announced that Pitts had successful surgery on his right knee, which has ended his season.
Pitts struggled to find his way in the Falcons offense. Not necessarily a fault of his own, though. Atlanta's offense consistently failed to find targets for the 2021 4th overall pick. Pitts put together a fantastic rookie season last year and was expected to take a significant leap in year two, especially since he was considered the best and most talented pass-catcher on the offense.
Now, Pitts will have to focus on preparing for next year and finding a way that both he and the team can get the uber-talented tight end more involved.
Atlanta sits 5-7 and still very much in the race to win the NFC South, which has been arguably the worst division in the NFL this season.
