The Philadelphia Eagles failed to exceed expectations during the 2021 NFL season. A big part of that was due to their underwhelming aerial attack, which garnered only 202.7 passing yards per game — 12th worst in the league.

The good news is that help could be on the way soon. The Eagles' latest trade rumors linked them to an exciting wide receiver who might be the solution they're looking for.

Eagles Trade Rumors

The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reported Thursday that the Eagles "have shown interest" in Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker. The 29-year-old — who has two seasons remaining on his four-year, $30.5 million deal — has become expendable after the Dolphins acquired Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs earlier this week.

Parker grabbed the NFL's attention when he finished the 2019 season with 72 receptions, 1,202 yards and nine touchdowns in 16 outings. Unfortunately, he's been unable to reach that height since then, putting up a 103-1,308-6 stat line in the subsequent 24 games.

Philadelphia's wideout room is fairly young, with a large portion of their wide receivers being 25 or younger. A proven veteran like Parker could take some pressure off of their shoulders while also attempting to find his game opposite of DeVonta Smith.

Acquiring Parker could give the Eagles a much-needed boost in the eyes of oddsmakers. FanDuel Sportsbook is currently giving Philadelphia +4000 odds (T-No. 20) to win Super Bowl LVII next season.
