The biggest story surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles right now is the health of quarterback Jalen Hurts. The star QB was forced to miss the team's Christmas Eve game with a shoulder sprain, and it remains unclear if he'll be able to return in Week 17.
Fortunately, Philadelphia received some big Hurts injury news on Thursday.
Jalen Hurts Injury Update
Hurts was seen throwing during the media access portion of practice. Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer noted this was more than the QB did last week, showing he's made at least some progress in his shoulder rehab.
The Eagles' MVP candidate was officially listed as limited on Thursday's practice report. It's certainly a move in the right direction, though the signal-caller was held out of his usual ball security drills, so he's still obviously got work to do.
Hurts being elevated from a DNP is great news nonetheless. His limited participation in practice at least makes playing in Week 17 against the New Orleans Saints a legit possibility.
The dual-threat seems determined to suit up on Sunday, but the team will ultimately have the final say. Philadelphia needs just one win over the next two weeks to lock up the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage, so the Eagles could opt to hold Hurts out one more game before trying to seal the deal in the regular-season finale.
Philly is currently listed as a 6.5-point home favorite against New Orleans, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
