Few predicted just how much improvement the Miami Dolphins ended up showing last season, just one year after a fire-sale that clearly signaled a long-term rebuild.
Now, after a 10-6 finish in 2020, they have a ton of draft capital to continue building. They've also used their cap space to do some work in free agency.
Most recently, that included signing a former first-round offensive lineman in D.J. Fluker.
D.J. Fluker Dolphins
The Dolphins signed Fluker to a one-year contract.
Drafted 11th overall by the then San Diego Chargers in 2013, Fluker has started 36 games over his NFL career, playing both guard and tackle. He most recently started eight games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2020, earning an overall grade of 63.8 and a run blocking grade of 67.9 from Pro Football Focus.
Whether Fluker ends up passing Jesse Davis at right tackle or Solomon Kindley at right guard on the depth chart remains to be seen.
But even if he doesn't, adding a versatile depth piece up front is a great move for a team that hopes to be in playoff contention in 2021.
NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook have the Dolphins ranked second in the AFC East with +320 odds to win the division next season.
