Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf put his speed to the ultimate test on Sunday. While the result didn't go quite as planned, Metcalf still put on a show with his blazing speed. The show continued in his post-race interview with NFL insider Emmanuel Acho.
After the race, in which Metcalf finished ninth out of nine runners, Acho asked Metcalf about his motivation for attempting to qualify for the Olympics. His answer was "mic drop" worthy and there's no other way to describe it.
Metcalf clearly responded with the same confidence he brings to the football field every single Sunday. "Myself. everybody else is scared to do it," Metcalf responded bluntly.
While Metcalf did finish ninth in this race, he still put up an incredible 10.37 second time in his 100-meter dash heat at the USATF Golden Games. It's pretty remarkable to imagine a 6'4", 230-pound wideout running with that speed.
Also, it's not like Metcalf got blown out of the water by these other Olympic sprinters. His speed may be better suited for the gridiron but watching him give it his all was pretty fun to watch.
