Demarcus Ware Reveals His Favorite Choice for Cowboys First-Round Draft Pick

The Dallas Cowboys will have a ton of options when they're on the clock at No. 17 in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The latest draft odds suggest that they'll be addressing the defensive side of the ball (-300 odds to draft a defensive player first), but that still doesn't narrow the field down much.

Few people are better equipped to speak on the Cowboys defense than legendary edge rusher Demarcus Ware, and he's given his take on who the Cowboys should target in the first round.

Ware wants the Cowboys to roll with an edge rusher in LSU's K'Lavon Chaisson — someone that a few experts project to Dallas as well.

With the departure of Robert Quinn and Maleik Collins, Dallas' pass rush needs a boost. Those two accounted for 39.7 percent of the team's sacks and 35.5 percent of the quarterback hits in 2019.

Chaisson could provide just the kind of boost they need. He broke out in 2019, racking up 6.5 sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss across 13 games for the national champions.

Dallas could also use some help at cornerback, but with C.J. Henderson's draft stock potentially climbing out of the Cowboys' grasp, Chaisson could very well be the best player available at a position of need by the time they're on the clock.
