Daniel Jones may not offer a ton of value in standard 2019 fantasy football leagues as he opens the season behind Eli Manning on the New York Giants depth chart, but dynasty leagues are another matter. Keeping the same roster year to year in dynasty, the possibility of a bright future for Jones gives him plenty of fantasy value.

And his preseason numbers are proving just that. Jones has completed 25 of 30 pass attempts for 369 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions. We can't read too much into a small sample in the preseason, but this play is an encouraging sign for his potential. And if things continue to go in this direction, he has a good shot at unseating Manning as the Giants' starter at some point this season.

Jones still isn't any kind of a lock to return big fantasy upside, He's still only thrown 30 NFL passes and the regular season can be a completely different beast than the preseason, but the potential seems to be there. Whether he's the backup in 2019 or not, it's his 2020 potential that makes him an intriguing late-round dynasty selection in fantasy.

His quality play in the preseason has already earned himself a massive upgrade in dynasty value. He was being drafted after skill position players that went in the fifth and sixth rounds of the NFL Draft earlier this summer, yet he's proven that was underrating him severely.

If you're buying the promise he's shown this preseason, drafting Jones in your dynasty leagues could turn into a big-time value play. Just know he might have to sit on your bench for an entire season before that value plays out.
