Quarterback Dak Prescott was on fire to start the 2020 season before going down with a damaging ankle injury. He is back with the Dallas Cowboys and reportedly doing whatever it takes to be on the field with the team in Week 1. Prescott heads into the fall with easy top-5 QB upside and potential QB1 status in fantasy football.

Dak Prescott Fantasy Outlook

Prescott was on pace to shatter records after passing for 1,856 yards and 9 touchdowns through five games played last season. He led all other fantasy quarterbacks through the first four games and the arsenal of offensive weapons he has at his disposal should allow him to get back to that level of play.

Wide receivers Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb make up one of the most dynamic pass-catching duos in the NFL. Meanwhile, running back Ezekiel Elliott is looking to bounce back this season after averaging 108.0 yards from scrimmage in his first four games played with Prescott in 2020.

The passing volume is always going to be there for Prescott. The 28-year-old averaged over 50 pass attempts during the first four weeks of the 2020 season. However, the rushing upside Prescott brings to the table is really what sets him apart. He has racked up at least 277 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns in his last four full regular seasons.

It's hard to ignore that Prescott has finished as a top-10 QB on a points-per-game basis in every season of his career. In fact, he finished as QB2 in his last full season in 2019. Assuming he is healthy, there is no reason to believe that Prescott cannot exceed expectations in 2021.

Dak Prescott ADP

Prescott has an average draft position of No. 57 overall and No. 5 amongst QBs, according to FantasyPros. He's a player easily capable of finishing as a top-5 QB and could be drafted at a discount thanks to the injury concerns. But, he has to stay healthy.

Prescott checks in at QB6 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings.
