The Dallas Cowboys are off to a great start so far, going 7-3 and ranking second in the NFC East despite losing Dak Prescott for a good chunk of the first half.

Even so, the Cowboys are not done tinkering with their roster and recently announced a new plan for their offensive line.

Dallas Cowboys News

According to team owner Jerry Jones, Tyron Smith will reclaim his job at left tackle when he returns from injury and Tyler Smith will slide over to guard.

Tyron Smith has not played this year after undergoing knee surgery but is expected to return in the near future, likely in December. The eight-time Pro Bowler has been one of the best offensive tackles in the game over the past decade, so getting him back will be a huge boost for Dallas.

Rookie Tyler Smith has done a solid job filling in for him in his absence but will move over to left guard when he comes back. This should considerably strengthen the left side of the Cowboys' O-line, which has already been highly successful this year at protecting Prescott and anchoring an offense that ranks eighth in the NFL in rushing yards per game.

So yes, head coach Mike McCarthy will be happy when Smith returns, but he won't be the only one. Prescott, Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott will probably be pretty happy, too.

For now, the Cowboys will continue to prepare for their Thanksgiving showdown against the New York Giants. Dallas is currently favored by 9.5 points at home for this Week 12 NFC East clash on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
