Cowboys Open as Surprisingly Small Favorites for Week 1 Road Game Against Rams

In a season where everything lined up perfectly for the Dallas Cowboys to add an easy NFC East title to their franchise's great history, they came up just short, finishing 8-8 and missing the playoffs. The Los Angeles Rams actually battled to go 9-7 in a tougher division, although they had a much less likely chance of making the postseason.
The two did meet in the regular season, and despite their respective final records, the Cowboys destroyed the Rams at home, 44-21, to get some revenge for the 2018 playoff loss LA dealt Dallas. Now these two NFC teams will clash once again in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL regular season in Los Angeles, and FanDuel Sportsbook has the odds.

Cowboys vs Rams Spread Week 1
On the road, the Cowboys are a 2.5-point favorite over the Rams as of now. The last time these two teams faced off in LA was that 2018 playoff game that the Rams won, 30-22.
The reason a Rams 'W' seems a little less likely this time around is because of each franchise's respective offseason. Los Angeles' has more or less been a dumpster fire of veteran contracts. Eric Weddle retired, Brandin Cooks was traded away and a surplus of former stars were cut or let walk including Todd Gurley and Clay Matthews.
Cap issues also limited the Rams' spending when it came to signing talent. Aside from re-signings and draft picks, their biggest offseason addition was defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson.
Dallas had a much more successful offseason. The Dak Prescott contract dispute has continued following the use of the franchise tag, but aside from that, Jerry Jones has done well. He brought back Amari Cooper and got arguably the steal of the first round in wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.

On the defensive side, the Cowboys supplemented head coach Mike McCarthy with veterans like Gerald McCoy, Ha Ha Clinton-Dix and Dontari Poe. They did lose Byron Jones at corner, but selected Trevon Diggs in the second round to be his immediate replacement.
With the Cowboys' hype seemingly higher than ever after a phenomenal draft, and Rams' stock tanking after a cap-stretched Spring, and it was a little surprising to see this number so low for Dallas.
