Now that we have a full list of college football's Week 3 betting spreads, totals and moneylines available on FanDuel Sportsbook, we can finally dive into the handful of matchups that can potentially be capitalized upon against the spread (ATS).
After The Duel staff came within half a point of going 3-for-3 with our ATS matchups to exploit in Week 2, here are three Week 3 college football games to keep an eye on this weekend.
1. No. 5 Oklahoma Sooners (-23.5) vs UCLA Bruins
Date: Saturday, Sept. 14, 8 p.m. EST
The Sooners seemingly haven't missed a beat despite losing their Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback, Kyler Murray, to the 2019 NFL Draft as the No. 1 overall pick. Oklahoma's offense is absolutely rolling behind Alabama transfer quarterback Jalen Hurts, averaging 59.5 points per game (PPG) through Week 2, which is good enough to be tied with Baylor for the No. 3 scoring offense in the country. This Week 3 matchup versus UCLA is the second leg of a home-and-home series with the Bruins that saw Oklahoma win 49-21 last season. The Bruins, on the other hand, look as bad as ever, having already fallen to 0-2 on the season with both losses coming against non-Power 5 opponents.
2. No. 19 Iowa (-2.5) vs Iowa State
Date: Saturday, Sept. 14, 4 p.m. EST
Iowa State has already made a number of early watch lists for least convincing Preseason AP Top-25 Poll teams, and despite winning its first game of the season, they still managed to fall out of the latest top-25 poll. It's hard to blame the voters either, after Iowa State kicked a game-tying field goal with four seconds remaining in regulation just to get to overtime against a 19.5-point FCS underdog against UNI in Week 1. As for the Iowa Hawkeyes, things have been business as usual through Week 2. Plus, Iowa has defeated their in-state rival Cyclones in four of the last five matchups at Iowa State. Recent history also favors the victor winning by more than 2.5 points, as each of the last 10 series meetings have been decided by three or more points.
3. No. 9 Florida (-8) vs Kentucky
Date: Saturday, Sept. 14, 7 p.m. EST
Kentucky defeated Florida for the first time in 31 meetings last season, but this year's Wildcats are a long way from the 2018 team that pulled off that stunning road upset in Gainesville, Fla. Kentucky heads into this Week 3 matchup without its starting quarterback Terry Wilson Jr. after he was ruled out for the remainder of the season with a reported torn patellar tendon in his left knee. For the Gators, quarterback Feleipe Franks finally looked like the talent many were expecting him to be in Week 2 during Florida's 45-0 rout of UT Martin. Franks went 25-for-27 through the air, throwing for 270 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions after a less-than-stellar Week 1 performance against Miami that saw him toss two picks. The Gators could come out on top by close to double digits in this contest and start a new streak of their own come Saturday.
