Chris Herndon Fantasy Outlook Gives Him Incredible Sleeper Value

Tight end is a pretty tricky position in fantasy football. After the top options are off the board, the position can be a bit of a crapshoot. If you miss out on those more-established players, finding legitimate sleepers becomes incredibly important.
Though he doesn't have the name value of many players ranked ahead of him, Chris Herndon certainly has a chance to be this year's breakout TE.
Who is your late-round TE sleeper? ?

Chris Herndon Fantasy Football Outlook
Herndon doesn't even have an average draft position (ADP) inside the top-20 tight ends, so he's essentially going undrafted. Don't let that happen in your league.
He showed real flashes of stardom as a rookie in 2018, racking up 502 yards and 4 scores. In fact, since targets became an official stat in 1992, Herndon is one of four tight ends ever to have racked up more than 500 receiving yards on at least 9.0 yards per target as a rookie. That put him in elite company, alongside Rob Gronkowski, Mark Andrews and 2001 Pro Bowler Ken Dilger.
We were robbed of seeing what Herndon would do for an encore, however, as injuries limited him to just one game in 2019.
Beat writers, Adam Gase, Sam Darnold, Jamison Crowder … everyone associated with the Jets is trying to tell us Chris Herndon is this year’s Darren Waller. It’s on us to listen.https://t.co/QVx9ZcAGPw

Now entering year three, Herndon has apparently been developing real chemistry with Sam Darnold in training camp. That's significant. The Jets simply don't have many viable pass-catchers on the roster.
Herndon will be the clear-cut No. 1 receiving tight end, and he'll only be competing with the likes of Jamison Crowder, Breshad Perriman and rookie Denzel Mims for targets.
He has already proven he can contribute at a high level, and he could be set to see real volume for the first time in his career. The 24-year-old has all the makings of a breakout star, and he could be this year's Darren Waller.
