The Kansas City Chiefs and Cleveland Browns are set to face off in one of the most anticipated matchups to kick off the regular season. Cleveland will look to avenge their playoff loss to KC with a statement win in Week 1.

A recent injury to Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Laurent Duvernay-Tardif may help the Browns' upset chances.

Tardif could be sidelined for the season-opener with a broke bone in his hand. That would push rookie Trey Smith into the starting role at right guard in his first career NFL game, giving the Browns' defensive front an appetizing weak spot to exploit.

Cleveland's D-line is headlined by the havoc-creating Myles Garrett, who racked up 12.0 sacks, 10 tackles for loss and 4 forced fumbles in 2020 despite battling COVID. Free-agent addition and three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney will suit up opposite of Garrett, giving the Browns a potentially scary duo if the former No. 1 pick bounces back.

Throw in disruptive second-round pick Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, and the Browns have the weapons to create serious problems for Patrick Mahomes in Week 1, especially if KC's new O-line struggles in its first game together.

The Chiefs are currently 6-point home favorites heading into their clash with Cleveland, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. It'd be no surprise at all to see the Browns make a serious upset bid to begin their year.
