The Los Angeles Rams play calling during their season-opening Thursday Night Football left both the team and Cam Akers fantasy managers in precarious positions. Not only was LA blown out by the Bills, but Akers was essentially absent from the box score.

Akers posted a dismal fantasy performance, headlined by just three carries for zero yards and zero targets in the passing attack.

On the other hand was Darrell Henderson gobbling up 82% of the offensive snaps for 13 carries and five targets (72 total yards).

Cam Akers Fantasy Outlook

On the heels of an Achilles injury that kept him out of action for almost an entire season, Akers provided zero impact for fantasy managers, who were drafting him at RB19 according to ADP.

It was quite clear that Akers had some rust to shake off. The third-year back showed very little explosion from the line of scrimmage and was completely absent as a receiving threat.

Darrell Henderson Fantasy Outlook

It's unclear how head coach Sean McVay plans to address this usage moving forward. As of now, Henderson is the leading option in the backfield.

Henderson operated as more of a 1B option to Sony Michel last year, but put together respectable RB27 numbers in PPR leagues. This included 149 carries for 688 yards and 5 touchdowns, in addition to 40 targets (29 receptions) and another three scores.

Henderson is currently rostered in only 46.4% of ESPN fantasy leagues, but that number is sure to take a sharp rise during the Week 2 waiver wire.

It may be too early for fantasy managers to panic, but it'd be wise to pay attention to the RB splits in Week 2 before making any sort of rash decision on Akers' future with your fantasy roster. This was a Bills defense taken No. 1, according to ADP, and finished last season at No. 4.
