Updated (Sunday, Nov. 8, 11:50 a.m. EST): Calvin Ridley has officially been ruled out for the Atlanta Falcons Week 9 game. Julio Jones remains a no-doubt WR1, and this news takes his fantasy outlook even higher. Hayden Hurst should be a solid TE1 this week as well.

It looks like the Atlanta Falcons will once again be without wide receiver Calvin Ridley when they take on the Denver Broncos in Week 9 NFL action. Ridley left last week's game due to a mid-foot sprain that also kept him out of practice all week, and it's looking like he won't be able to suit up on Sunday.

Ridley ranks No. 6 in the NFL with 657 receiving yards and has become one of quarterback Matt Ryan's favorite targets. The Falcons have their bye in Week 10, so fantasy managers likely won't get to start Ridley until Week 11.

Julio Jones Fantasy Outlook

Julio Jones was already a WR1 in fantasy football, but the absence of Ridley should lead to even more targets for the star wideout. Jones is in the middle of a hot streak as he has caught 23 of 29 targets for 371 yards and 2 touchdowns over his past three games.

There is no question Jones should be started in every fantasy football league this week. He is averaging 15.4 yards per reception, which is his highest mark since 2017. Jones could fight to be the overall WR1 this week as he looks to carry an offense missing one of its best weapons.

Hayden Hurst Fantasy Outlook

The other player set to benefit from Ridley's absence is Falcons' tight end Hayden Hurst. Hurst has recently become a steady option for Matt Ryan as he has hauled in 11 of 14 targets for 122 yards over the past two games. He should see even more targets against the Broncos this week.

Hurst does draw a tough matchup in Week 9 as the Broncos have only given up 2 touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. But he should still offer solid TE1 value thanks to a likely uptick in volume with Ridley sidelined.
