C.J. Prosise Fantasy Value Likely to Fall Once Rashaad Penny Returns From Injury After Week 6

In one of the more surprising developments of the day, Seattle Seahawks running back C.J. Prosise out-snapped lead back Chris Carson, 45-37, in the team's Week 6 win over the Cleveland Browns.

While this was likely due to game flow, as Prosise is a talented pass-catcher and Seattle was trailing the Browns early, Carson's fumbling issues (three lost fumbles this season) might've contributed as well.

However, Prosise is not a recommended waiver wire add, as his fantasy value will likely regress once Rashaad Penny returns from injury.

Penny was held out in Week 6 due to a hamstring injury, but he's the clear No. 2 running back in Seattle, racking up 25 touches to Prosise's 17, though both backs have played in only three games.

Twelve of Prosise's 17 touches came between Week 3 and Week 4, while Penny was inactive, so it's likely Penny retains his role once he does come back. Prosise's critical fumble in Week 6 certainly won't help him earn a larger role, either.

Neither Penny nor Prosise offers much fantasy value outside of being a handcuff to Carson. While Prosise's role was a bit of a surprise this week, it's unlikely that he will be fantasy relevant going forward.
