Byron Jones Quote on Tua Tagovailoa Should Get Dolphins Fans Hyped
By Max Staley

Tua Tagovailoa didn't have the rookie season Miami Dolphins fans were hoping for. Making nine starts in 2020, Tua threw for 1,814 yards with 11 touchdowns to 5 interceptions. That's not terrible, but it's not what you'd want from the No. 5 overall pick in the NFL Draft, especially when the No. 6 pick, Justin Herbert, blew those numbers out of the water.
But perhaps that's unfair to Tua. He did lead his team to a 6-3 record in that time, and he was coming off a devastating hip injury, one that initially threatened to ruin his NFL career.
More importantly, it seems like the Dolphins players believe in their quarterback. Check out what Byron Jones had to say about Tua's upcoming season.
"Obviously, he's going into his second year. What we saw last year was great from him but we expect a big jump. The kid's been working, I know he's been working. He's been a great kid. Really good head on his shoulders. And that's the beauty of it. We're surrounded by a bunch of good guys who want to be great again. So I'm looking forward to seeing his jump. His contributions to the team have been great so far, but we're looking for even something better this year. It's exciting. I can't wait to see him work his magic."

Jones is expecting to see an improved Tua in 2021, and there's plenty of reason to believe he's right.
Miami has already added a premier deep threat in Will Fuller this offseason. Putting Fuller into a group that already featured DeVante Parker and Mike Gesicki should really help Tua's development next season.
And it's not like the Dolphins are done adding talent. Miami has the Nos. 6 and 18 picks in the 2021 NFL Draft, and it's looking like the organization will bring in some more help along the O-Line and skill-position group.
Playing in what should be a revamped offense, Tua looks primed for a second-year leap in 2021.
