Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree came into the season with a shot to audition for a lucrative long-term deal in NFL free agency. Dupree was in the midst of what could've been a career year, but his season will now be cut short due to an ACL tear suffered against the Baltimore Ravens in Wednesday's matchup.

The news is a blow to Dupree ahead of free agency, and it's a blow to the Super Bowl hopeful Steelers. However, ACL injuries have proven to not be career-ending in recent years (just ask Adrian Peterson), so these three teams should try to nab the 27-year-old Dupree at a discount.

3. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders could be legit contenders if they fill in a few key holes. Their lacking defense, which ranks No. 20 in Football Outsiders' defensive DVOA metric, has been one of the league's worst at pressuring the quarterback this season. They have the second-fewest sacks (12) in the league this year. Getting to the QB is where Dupree shines, as the linebacker has racked up 8 sacks in 2020. He would instantly boost a defense that desperately needs another sack threat.

2. Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs are known for their blistering offense, often winning shootout games rather than relying on their defense. However, that defense is one of the Chiefs' biggest issues surrounding their Super Bowl hopes. Dupree would help bolster a linebacking group that has only recorded 3 sacks for Kansas City this season. If the Chiefs can solidify their defense, little will stand in the way of them racking up championships.

1. Cleveland Browns

If the Cleveland Browns stole Dupree from the Steelers, it would make the AFC North even more entertaining. Cleveland finds themselves with one of the best records in the league at 8-3, and they've proven that they can win games behind their defense and dominant run game. In order to make this season not just be an outlier, the Browns need to invest in their talent. They should absolutely double down on their defense, which is 11th in sacks this year, and bring in Dupree to wreak havoc alongside Myles Garrett, especially if Olivier Vernon leaves in free agency.
