Many counted the Milwaukee Bucks out in the second round against the Boston Celtics after losing All-Star Khris Middleton. They responded with a commanding 101-89 win on the road in Game 1, proving they're not going down easy.

The Bucks' NBA championship odds on FanDuel Sportsbook have soared after going up 1-0 in this semifinal series.

Bucks Championship Odds

Milwaukee owned +850 odds to win the title ahead of the start of the second round. Boston, meanwhile, sat atop the Eastern Conference contenders with +420 odds that placed them third overall.

Now the Bucks (+440) have leapfrogged the Celtics (+550), taking over the No. 3 spot in the odds behind the Phoenix Suns (+490) and Golden State Warriors (+300).

This is a seismic change that could indicate how this series ultimately turns out. Milwaukee stealing a game on the road was big in itself, but this squad taking Game 1 is a statement about their legit claim to being title contenders despite the Middleton injury.

Giannis Antetokounmpo racked up his second career NBA Playoffs triple-double on Sunday, while Jrue Holiday paced the team with 25 points. Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis each notched at least 10 rebounds in the winning effort as well.

Boston will need more from its star duo if they're to keep up against the Bucks' offense, as Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for a meager 33 points. The health of Marcus Smart will also be a big factor going forward after the Defensive Player of the Year picked up shoulder and lower-body injuries on Sunday.

Game 2 will be in Boston on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET.
