Buccaneers Odds to Make Playoffs Suggest Tom Brady's Tenure in Tampa Bay Could Start Slow
By Max Staley

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made arguably the biggest splash of the entire NFL offseason, replacing Jameis Winston with Tom Brady. But playing in one of the most competitive divisions in the NFC, the team will have a tough road ahead of them next season.
And apparently even adding Brady might not be enough, as the odds currently suggest Tampa Bay might even be more likely to miss the postseason in 2020 than make it, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Buccaneers Odds to Make Playoffs 2020
The Buccaneers are available at -114 to miss the playoffs and -108 to earn a playoff berth. It's close, of course, but this suggest that missing the postseason is the more likely outcome for the team. That's an implied probability of a 53.3 percent shot at missing the postseason, compared to a 51.9 percent shot at making it.
Even if the odds suggest otherwise, it's fair to expect this team to make a significant improvement with Brady replacing Winston. Last season, Tampa Bay was one of just three teams to finish with a top-5 scoring offense, and a top-5 defense according to Football Outsiders' DVOA metrics.

It was Winston's 35 turnovers that really sunk this team's hopes. In fact, Winston alone accounted for just as many turnovers as the second-most turnover prone team in the league, the Carolina Panthers (35).
Brady, on the other hand, has thrown a combined 29 INTs over the past four seasons. With a much-steadier hand at QB, Tampa Bay could be a force to be reckoned with next season, though the odds suggest the Buccaneers will have a tough road ahead.
