Browns Get Concerning Jadeveon Clowney News

The Cleveland Browns made improvements to their defense throughout the offseason, including signing veteran defensive end Jadeveon Clowney. Unfortunately, the team recently got some concerning news regarding Clowney's status as Week 1 kickoff quickly approaches.

Browns News
Clowney was held out of practice on Wednesday because of an illness. It has been confirmed that he did not test positive for COVID-19, though this isn't the news Browns fans wanted to hear.
The three-time Pro Bowler has racked up 255 tackles (75 for loss) and 32.0 sacks over the course of seven NFL seasons (83 games played). While Clowney may not be the sack artist he was a few years ago, he remains a reliable run stopper and one of the hardest working players in the league.
It's definitely possible Clowney sees more open lanes to the quarterback in 2021 given he is lining up alongside an All-Pro talent in Myles Garrett. This is a situation worth keeping an eye on as an illness is never something to be taken lightly. More news should be released in the coming days.
As long as Clowney can shake off the bug and avoid a positive test, he should be ready to suit up when the Browns take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday afternoon. Cleveland is currently a 6.5-point underdog in that AFC clash, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
