Broncos Had Lengthy Pre-Draft Visit With Decorated Quarterback Prospect

The Denver Broncos don't have a first- or second-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and they only own five selections overall. That means Denver's front office must focus on identifying potential steals in order to maximize their 2023 class.
It turns out the Broncos recently had a lengthy pre-draft meeting with one quarterback prospect who could fit that bill.
Per source, Penn State QB and Rose Bowl MVP Sean Clifford had one-hour Zoom visit with Broncos QB coach Davis Webb today.

Broncos Draft Prospect
Denver's brass held a one-hour Zoom visit with Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford on Tuesday. This was one of three web calls the team is allowed in addition to 30 in-person meetings it can hold at its facility.
Clifford is coming off of a very successful collegiate career with the Nittany Lions. He threw for at least 21 touchdowns and 2,600 yards in three of his four seasons as a starter. The 24-year-old also helped lead Penn State to several major bowl wins, including the Rose Bowl this past January.
Projections peg Clifford as a likely undrafted free agent, so he may not be a target for one of Denver's five draft picks. However, the success of 2022 Mr. Irrelevent Brock Purdy showcased that later-round QBs can be worth taking a flier on. Clifford could be a candidate to compete for QB3 duties behind Russell Wilson and the recently signed Jarrett Stidham.
