While the NFL schedule is set way before the start of the season, primetime games late in the season can be changed to bring more exciting matchups to fans.

That's exactly what is happening in Week 14. The league announced Tuesday night that the Miami Dolphins vs Los Angeles Chargers matchup has been flexed into a primetime Sunday Night Football slot. Unfortunately, that means two teams will be without a primetime game on their schedule.

The slot was originally reserved for a Kansas City Chiefs vs Denver Broncos matchup. Instead, the Chiefs-Broncos showdown will be played at 4:05 p.m. ET on CBS.

It's pretty safe to assume this is the Broncos' fault — screwing over Patrick Mahomes and his offense out of playing under the bright lights.

The Broncos were expected to be a potential Super Bowl contender after adding Russell Wilson this past offseason. Instead, they've been a disaster. Not only is Denver just 3-8 and close to mathematical elimination from the playoffs, but they have the league's worst offense in terms of points scored.

Denver entered the season with the eighth-best odds (+1700) to win Super Bowl 57 on FanDuel Sportsbook. Those odds have crashed down to the third-worst mark (+85000).

This is an unfortunate outcome for Mahomes and his squad. Kansas City is, yet again, one of the best teams in football. They are just one of three teams with 9 or more wins through the first 12 weeks of the season, lead the league in scoring, and have won five straight contests.
