The Denver Broncos made headlines when they traded away Pro Bowl pass rusher Von Miller a few weeks ago. As a result, the team was left a bit shallow at the position. The Broncos are luckily set to get one key player back along the defensive line as Bradley Chubb will return to practice on Monday.
Bradley Chubb Injury Update
Chubb has been on the sidelines ever since he went down with an ankle injury in a Week 2 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. He had to undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove a bone spur. The fourth-year pro's activation window from the injured reserve has been put into place, which is a good sign for his availability moving forward.
The Broncos find themselves in the middle of the pack when it comes to pass rush, ranking 12th in in the NFL in total sacks (24.0). Chubb's return could provide an enticing boost along the d-line. Keep in mind this is a player that has racked up 20.5 sacks, 46 quarterback hits and 4 forced fumbles across 35 career games. He also earned his first Pro Bowl nod during the 2020 season.
It's possible Chubb is able to suit up as soon as Sunday, but it all comes down to how he looks in practice. Denver will look to stay within reach of an AFC playoff spot when they host the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12 NFL action.
The Broncos head into that matchup as 2.5-point home underdogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
