Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos hopped across the pond this week in preparation for a Week 8 clash against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. The team finds themselves in a desperate spot, trying to resurrect their 2-5 start to the campaign.
While the Broncos fanbase, and the entire NFL world, thinks it's time for Denver to hit the panic button, the front office isn't quite there yet.
General manager George Paton shared a frustrating update on head coach Nathaniel Hackett's job security.
Perhaps it's simply a good PR tactic, but Paton said Thursday morning "I believe in Nathaniel. I support Nathaniel 100%."
Injured or not, the Broncos acquired the supposed missing piece (Russell Wilson) to their Super Bowl hopes this offseason. But a combination of bad play calling, poor game management, and poor chemistry leaves Denver with the worst offense in the league (in terms of points scored).
Considering the capital Denver had to give up to acquire Wilson, a league-worst offense is unacceptable. And somebody needs to be held accountable, although according to Paton, it won't be coach Hackett.
Denver is considered a 2.5-point underdog ahead of their Week 8 clash with the Jaguars, per NFL odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
