Former Chicago Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher was one of the best defensive players in the league for years, being named a first-team All-Pro four times in his 13-year NFL career. As the quarterback of the defense at the middle linebacker spot, he needed to be able to analyze an entire offensive play in a split second.

He didn't show any of that knack for good judgement when he shared a bizarre Instagram post comparing the NBA players' strike to when Brett Favre played on Monday Night Football following the death of his father.

To start with, this is obviously an intentionally obtuse way to refer to Jacob Blake, who was unarmed when police officers shot him seven times in the back in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

And then, of course, the situations are not even remotely similar. The NBA strike was to call attention to decades of systemic racism and police brutality. Players were not sitting out because they were mourning a situation that affected only themselves.

Favre absolutely deserves all the kudos he receives for that incredible, gutsy Monday Night Football performance. Comparing these situations is absolutely ridiculous, however, and Urlacher really missed the mark here.
