A three-run ninth inning wasn't good enough to help the Atlanta Braves escape a 7-6 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 1 of the NLDS. With Game 2 scheduled for Wednesday at 3:35 p.m. ET, Braves manager Brian Snitker has decided to mix up the starting lineup to give his club a kick in the pants.

Braves NLDS Game 2 Lineup

The first notable change is that Matt Olson and Austin Riley are swapping spots in the order. They batted fourth and third, respectively, in Game 1, but will now do the reverse. Travis d'Arnaud also got bumped up one spot in the order while Michael Harris II will be batting sixth instead of eighth.

In addition to the order moving around, the Braves are also swapping out players entirely. Robbie Grossman replaces Eddie Rosario in left field while Marcell Ozuna is in for William Contreras as the designated hitter.

It makes sense that left-handed batters like Olson and Harris would be moved up in the lineup. The Braves will be up against Phillies right-handed starter Zack Wheeler, which is good news considering how no team hit more than Atlanta's 190 home runs against righties this season.

The defending World Series Champions can't risk going down 0-2 to the Phillies, so hopefully, the Braves' adjustments wind up paying off. Atlanta was down 7-3 after just five innings in Game 1, so a faster start is definitely needed.

Phillies vs Braves Game 2 Odds

The Braves are in a prime position to bounce back on Wednesday. FanDuel Sportsbook currently lists Atlanta as the -142 moneyline favorite over the Phillies in a game with a projected run total of 7.5 runs.
