Braves Get Big Injury Update on Former All-Star
By Larry Rupp

The Atlanta Braves currently sit atop the NL East division with a 24-11 record and have not had much go wrong for them so far in the year. Losing All-Star catcher Travis D'Arnaud to a head injury in early April was one of the only blows, but it looks like the veteran is ready to rejoin his teammates in the dugout.
The #Braves today returned C Travis d’Arnaud from his rehabilitation assignment and reinstated him from the injured list. The club optioned C Chadwick Tromp to Gwinnett following yesterday’s game.

The Braves activated D'Arnaud from the seven-day concussion injured list on Monday morning, optioning catcher Chadwick Tromp to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move. The 2022 All-Star last played in the majors on April 8, which was when he suffered a concussion during a weird collision at home plate.
The severity of the injury was not what kept D'Arnaud off the field for almost a month, but rather the fact that it was the fourth concussion of his playing career. He needed to take his time during the recovery process in order to make sure his future outside of the sport of baseball stays bright.
While D'Arnaud went hitless across three minor-league rehab games, he will aim to pick up where he left off prior to the injury, as he owns a .333 batting average on the young season (11-of-33). He has also tallied 3 doubles, 3 runs scored and 5 RBIs across eight games, but is still searching for his first home run in 2023.
Look for D'Arnaud to split time behind the plate with Sean Murphy and serve as the designated hitter every now and then, too. For now, the Braves have odds set at -390 to capture their sixth straight NL East division title and odds set at +500 to win the World Series, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
