The Buffalo Bills are far from healthy in their secondary and they are wasting no time attempting to better position themselves moving forward. With their top three cornerbacks sidelined due to different injuries, the team is working out a Pro Bowl free agent in Xavier Rhodes on Tuesday.

Cornerback Tre'Davious White is still working his way back from a torn ACL suffered in November and Dane Jackson remains out with a neck injury. Christian Benford was called upon to take a bigger role at CB in Week 3, but he fractured his hand in the loss and that leaves the Bills searching for help.

Rhodes went through the offseason unsigned after spending the past two seasons as a member of the Indianapolis Colts. During his 29 starts, he racked up 81 tackles (1 for loss), 19 pass breakups, 3 interceptions and 1 fumble recovery. Rhodes also allowed a completion percentage of only 55.6%.

At 32 years of age, Rhodes is past his prime, but that doesn't mean he can't make an immediate impact in Buffalo. Keep in mind safety Micah Hyde was placed on the injured reserve with a neck injury and Jordan Poyer was inactive in Week 3 with a foot issue. The secondary needs a playmaker.

Rhodes could have his work cut out for him in Week 4 if he ultimately signs with the Bills. They are set to face quarterback Lamar Jackson, who leads the NFL with 10 passing touchdowns. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds lists Buffalo as a 3.5-point road favorite against the Baltimore Ravens.
