The Buffalo Bills have one of the more outdated stadiums in the NFL, as Highmark Stadium has been their home since 1973. Despite being beloved by its loyal fanbase, "The Ralph" needs an upgrade and we now have an idea of what that upgrade will look like.
Buffalo Bills New Stadium
The Bills released its first renderings of what the new stadium will look like, scheduled to open in 2026 at a location across the street from the current venue in Orchard Park, NY. The Stadium has a futuristic design with a metal roof that will be partially closed, as well as a glass and metal exterior.
The partially closed roof makes sense for Buffalo. It doesn't take away one of the Bills' biggest home-field advantages in the weather, but it does protect almost every fan from any precipitation. Additionally, the shape of the roof is designed to push the winds off Lake Erie away from the field instead of letting them swirl around as they do now.
While the full designs for the stadium have yet to be finalized, the first draft appears incredible. This will be a long-awaited and much-deserved upgrade for the best fan base in the NFL, who now have something else to look forward to besides a potential Super Bowl title this year.
